The Routes (Japan).
Formed in 2006, The Routes are a three piece garage rock/garage punk/psych/surf band based in Hita City, Oita (Japan).

To date The Routes have released six full length albums, several EPs, and several singles, on labels such as Motor Sounds Records (Northern Ireland), Groovie Records (Portugal), Dirty Water Records (UK), Go Ape Records (USA), Hidden Volume Records (USA), KOTJ Records (Spain), Ghost Highway Recordings (Spain), Action Weekend Records (Spain), Dead Beat Records (USA), and Greenway Records (USA).

In 2017 The Routes released the album “In This Perfect Hell” on Groovie Records (Portugal). The album received heavy airplay by Rodney Bingenheimer, WFMU (USA) and El Sotano De Radio 3 (Spain), as well as rave reviews in Shindig Magazine, Vintage Guitar Magazine amongst many others.

The Routes 2017 tour will be their fourth visit to Iberia. The tour will be in promotion of the “In This Perfect Hell” album, and sees the band back to the 2009 Dirty Water Records lineup of Chris Jack – guitar/vocals, Shinichi Nakayama – drums, and Toru Nishimuta – bass. The Routes will have a new album “Dirty Needles and Pins” released on Greenway Records (USA) in September, just before the tour.
The band are to appear on El Sotano De Radio 3, on the night before the tour starts.

The Routes describe themselves as “taking influence from UK and US 60s music and culture, happily oblivious to the fads and trends of today.”
